The books and movies reviewed on my blog page (starting in November 2011) have all been read or watched by me. I don't get paid to do reviews, and I only publish reviews of things I like. I don't like to dissect plotlines or anything, just give you a general feel for what the thing's about so that you can drop into it and discover it for yourself - which is the whole point of reading and movie-watching, isn't it?
I am probably a mature-onset ADD sufferer, or perhaps I always had it but with such disciplined parents, there was no way it was ever going to lead me into trouble. Now I've hit a part of my life where I'm doing everything I can that I want to do, trying to sample everything that interests me for fear that one day I might not get the chance. But to most people it's not as exciting as it sounds - I'm no bungee jumper! But I'm loving having my own business, learning more about computers, about internet communication, about publishing, painting, life in general ...
You can find out more about what I do at the following sites:
I am Managing Director of MoshPit Publishing, a business designed to help people get the word out. We focus primarily on epublishing (books and websites) supplemented by print on demand options where feasible. We also offer ad-hoc publishing services such as proofreading, editing, book cover design and layout, print book formatting and layout and ebook formatting (mobi for Kindle, and epub), so you can get a little help, or a lot.
I am Editor-in-Chief and publisher of nnarratorAUSTRALIA (formerly published as Narrator Magazine) - a free, online creative writing site for emerging and established writers, and publisher of narratorEROTICA and narratorPRIDE.
As part of MoshPit Publishing, we also:
- run an online shop - The MoshShop - retailing our print books, narratorAUSTRALIA and a few other bits and bobs
- run a book marketing site - One Thousand Words Plus - helping authors and publishers direct potential buyers to their preferred purchase sites
- run a self publishing site for Aussie authors at IndieMosh - helping Australian indie writers publish their ebooks and print on demand books without a US or IRS tax file number
- run a travel company marketing site - Travel Competitions Australia - helping connect travel competition sponsors with competition entrants.
And as a hobby, I like to paint using old credit cards and sim cards to apply acrylics to canvas, rather than brushes or palette knives. To have a look at what happens when I get time to get creative, have a look at my Facebook page Credit Card Art. But don't be surprised if it's out of date ... sadly painting gets pushed aside for everything else! It also refers to my now defunct other blog, so I must do some work there. Ah, my kingdom for a spare year! :D
You can find me on Facebook at Jennifer Mosher, Editor or join me on Google+ at MoshPit Publishing or Narrator Magazine. But I'm still getting my head around Google+ so again, don't expect too much.
